Fully Automated Packaging of Mortadella in Italy
Starting situation:
Our customer is a producer of high-quality mortadella in Italy. For three generations, today as in the past, mortadella has been produced there with passion, experience and skill. The brand is among the leading mortadella sausage brands in Italy. The factory covers an area of 20,000 square meters.
Challenges:
Due to the size and weight of the products, the packaging of mortadella slicing-logs is very strenuous and labor-intensive. For this reason, the customer wanted the mortadella slicing-logs to be packaged fully automatically.
Our solution:
2 large vacuum belt machines of the type GK 852 B form the basis of the project. The products are packaged in bags fully automatically and are placed by robots onto the Supervac vacuum belt machines. After the evacuation process, the protruding bag material is cut off and extracted. The automation was carried out by a partner of Supervac.
