Process reliability since 2003: Automated packaging for round cheese products with SUPERVAC
Starting situation:
Back in 2003, an Australian cheese producer decided to switch from traditional double chamber machines to an automated belt machine solution – a significant step toward optimizing processes and boosting efficiency. At the time, a type 501 vacuum belt machine was used that was specially designed for the requirements of round cheese products.
Challenge:
The highly rotund shape of the cheese products posed a particular challenge for conventional conveyor belts – the risk of the cheeses rolling away made a stable and automated process difficult. It was also important for the customer to operate the packaging line with minimal personnel without compromising the sealing quality or product safety.
Solution:
The 501 machine used was equipped with a ribbed belt that holds the products safely in place – even at a high throughput. This stable product guidance enabled the Australian producer to achieve smooth and efficient operation with high packaging quality. A number of years later, the line was expanded to integrate a shrink tank to give the cheese in its packaging an even more appealing appearance.
The machine has been running reliably in continuous operation for more than two decades – an impressive testimony to the dynamic longevity and quality of our solutions. For the customer in Australia, the investment from 2003 is still a central component of production – and clear proof that high-quality machines are not only winners today but tomorrow as well.
