Safe and Resource-Efficient Packaging of Meat and Sausage Products in Germany

Starting situation:

For many years now, our customer has been well-known for its premium-quality specialties, such as raw ham sausage and tongue sausage. The company supplies meat-market purchasing companies and also operates a popular factory outlet. In order to offer customers safe, durable and visually appealing products at all times, the customer relies on a combination of traditional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology.

Challenges:

With ever more stringent requirements for efficiency, product safety and sustainability, our customer had to confront the task of updating their packaging processes. Prior processes were hardly flexible and resulted in increased consumption of both materials and energy. Another key point was the processing of different bag sizes in order to reflect as best as possible the broad range and variety of products. The objective was making production more efficient, optimizing staff deployment while boosting quality and the durability of the products at the same time.

Our solution:

A complete packaging line, consisting of a Supervac GK 402 B and an AT 8 and an AT8, was installed. This combination facilitates flexible bag sizes, skin-tight packaging and a great look for all the products. The automation of the process reduced material and energy consumption, while production capacity was significantly boosted. The result are safe, resource-saving meat and sausage products that meet the high industry standards and present the customer’s brand in the most optimal way.
