From manual packaging to maximum efficiency – How SUPERVAC has optimized the packaging processes of a long-established French meat processor
Starting situation
Our client is a long-established meat processing company in France, specializing in the production of high-quality meat and sausage products. The company combines traditional butchery craftsmanship with cutting-edge production and logistics processes. Only meat of 100% regional sourcing is processed – a clear commitment to quality, the region, and sustainable value creation.
The client was no longer satisfied with their existing packaging solution. The products were manually vacuum-packed using a double-chamber machine and subsequently processed in a manually operated shrink tank.
This process required a high level of manual labor and offered limited scope for adapting packaging output and process efficiency to rising production demands.
Challenge
The goal was to optimize packaging processes on a long-term basis while simultaneously improving product presentation.
Key areas of focus included:
- Boosting production capacity and packaging throughput
- Achieving higher-quality, more attractive product presentation through best-possible vacuum packaging and shrinking
- Reducing manual labor during vacuum packaging, thereby utilizing existing personnel resources more efficiently
- Automating key process steps to ensure a more reliable and continuous production process
Solution
To meet these requirements, the customer opted for the SUPERVAC GK 501 B belt machine combined with the AT 8 shrink tank.
Decisive factors in this choice included the high production and processing quality of SUPERVAC’s packaging technology as well as the numerous configuration and equipment options that allow the machine to be optimally tailored to specific production needs.
Since its installation, the new packaging solution has been successfully employed in daily operations. The customer is particularly impressed by the integrated automatic cutting and exhaust system. It enables efficient further processing of the packages while reducing manual work steps.
By combining the GK 501 B and AT 8, the customer was able to modernize packaging processes significantly and reduce manual labor, all while ensuring high-quality, professional product presentation.
