Industrial packaging of large cheese blocks in Austria
Starting situation:
Our customer is a long-established and innovative company in the cheese industry in Austria. Product expansion made it necessary to package large quantities of larger cheese blocks with as less people as possible. A high degree of automation was required from the very onset. The cheese blocks are matured under vacuum packaging before being processed again for final packaging.
Challenges:
This project required an adaptation to the existing space on site while still delivering the highest possible output. Various cheese formats and weights require that the machines can be flexibly adjusted to these product characteristics simply and reliably.
Our solution:
We created a comprehensive concept for the customer consisting of a filling aid for cheese blocks, a GK 882 B packaging machine (product length 1,100 mm), a shrink tunnel, a dryer and various elements from automation technology. Based on the customer’s input. The concept was adapted and subsequently implemented together with our sales and service partner. The packaging line was optimized that maximum output is achieved on the line, involving a small number of personnel.
