Packaging of a Wide Range of Bacon Products in Austria

Starting situation:

Our customer is a privately owned company in the heart of Austria that produces top-quality variations of sausages and bacon. The company was founded in the 1990s and is today managed by the second generation. The customer is specialized in regional products in a niche market; a large proportion of the products are sold through their own webshop. Products are exported to the whole of Europe.

Challenges:

The products greatly vary in size and weight, and there are constant product changes. This is why they needed a machine with a particularly high degree of flexibility that can handle the different product formats without faltering. In peak times, our customer needs high throughputs and maximum sealing quality. Furthermore, the customer prefers shrink bags to optimize product appearance as well as the shelf-life of the finished products.

Our solution:

A vacuum belt machine of the GK501B type is suitable for a wide range of different products. The products are packaged in bags manually and are placed on the Supervac belt machines. After the evacuation process, the protruding bag material is cut off and extracted. Then the shrink bags with the products are shrunk by the AT8 shrink tank.
